Marina Bay, next to Hotel Arts, puts a platter of oysters, langoustines and prawns on the table, pours Albariño and cava, hands out the grapes at midnight and keeps a DJ going until the early hours, all for €125 per person on its 2026 menu. A New Year’s Eve dinner in Barcelona is a set menu that restaurants and hotels serve on 31 December, with the twelve grapes included and often a party afterwards. Hotel Arts runs the top-end gala at €475, Can Cortada the cheapest dinner here at €95, and Albarada the one with the fireworks below.
Where should I have New Year’s Eve dinner in Barcelona? For dinner and a party in one place, Marina Bay, Europa Café or The Chipirón, at €125 with drinks and a DJ. For a classic dinner, 7 Portes, €110 last year, with a pianist at midnight. For fireworks views, Albarada on Tibidabo, and for a full gala with an open bar until 2 am, Hotel Arts.
How New Year’s Eve dinner works in Spain
The night runs later than you may expect. Dinner starts between 8 pm and 9 pm, dessert lands just before midnight, and at the twelve chimes everyone eats one grape per chime for luck in each month of the year. Then comes the cava toast and the cotillón, the bag of party hats and noisemakers that most of these menus include.
Almost every restaurant serves a single set menu that night, with a fixed price that covers food and, in most cases, wine and cava. You pay a deposit to book; Catalonia Plaça Catalunya asked for half up front and the rest by 20 December. If someone at your table has an allergy, say so when you book.
Which dinner suits your trip
Pick by what you want after the grapes, then by budget:
- Dinner and a party in the same room, around €125. Marina Bay, Europa Café and The Chipirón share a menu: Iberian ham, red prawn croquettes, tuna tartare and scallops to share, a platter of northern seafood, beef fillet and a chocolate dessert, with Albariño, Rioja, cava, beer and soft drinks. After midnight a DJ takes over inside until the early hours.
- A gala night, €475. Hotel Arts starts with cocktails at 7 pm in the Salón Gaudí, serves a six-course dinner with wine pairing at 8:30 pm, has live performances, a DJ for the countdown and an open bar until 2 am. Parking is included and there is a vegan menu.
- A view of the fireworks, €295 last year. Albarada, at the METT hotel on the Tibidabo road, opened last year with Taittinger Champagne and served lobster rice, sea bass and grilled beef, with wine included. After dinner the hotel club has live music.
- A classic dinner, €95 to €130. At 7 Portes, €110 last year, a pianist plays the chimes. Can Cortada serves dinner in an old Catalan farmhouse from 8 pm to 1 am for €95, and the two Catalonia hotels charged €120 and €130 last year.

Prices marked last year are from 2025 and usually rise a little when the new menu comes out. Europa Café, on Avinguda Diagonal, and The Chipirón, at Maremagnum on the old port, serve Marina Bay’s €125 menu.
With children
Can Cortada has a €34 menu for under-12s and finishes at 1 am, which makes it the easiest choice with kids. Catalonia Plaça Catalunya had a €40 children’s menu last year, right in the centre. At Hotel Arts children up to 5 eat free and those aged 6 to 11 pay €245, though the gala is aimed at adults.
Getting there and back
On 31 December the metro runs straight through the night, so from Marina Bay, 7 Portes, Can Cortada or the Catalonia hotels you can ride back whenever you like. A T-casual, ten rides for €13 in zone 1, covers the evening; the metro ticket guide explains the options. Albarada is the exception: book a taxi there and back, because the nearest metro is about 24 minutes’ walk uphill.
Crowded streets and late metro rides attract pickpockets, so keep your phone and wallet zipped away; the Barcelona safety guide has more. If you would rather skip dinner and watch the free fireworks at Montjuïc, see New Year’s Eve in Barcelona.
What you might not like
- One menu for everyone. At Marina Bay there is a single main and a seafood platter in the middle of the table.
- Last year’s prices will change at 7 Portes, the Catalonia hotels and Albarada.
- The DJ party is not a nightclub. It stays inside the restaurant, with the same crowd as dinner.
