Shoppers who land in Barcelona at the end of November get a long weekend rather than a single day. Black Friday in Barcelona is the discount day at the end of November that opens the Christmas shopping season, and in 2026 it falls on Friday 27 November. Saturday is a normal shopping day, and Sunday 29 is one of the few Sundays of the year when shops may open. La Roca Village, the designer outlet outside the city, is open every day from 10 am to 9 pm, and Passeig de Gràcia, 55 m from its metro stop, is the street for premium brands.
When can you shop over Black Friday weekend in Barcelona? Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November, and shops may also open on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29, an approved shopping Sunday. Monday 30 is Cyber Monday, mostly online. La Roca Village opens daily from 10 am to 9 pm, and non-EU visitors can claim the sales tax back at the airport.
Which days the shops open over Black Friday
Black Friday always falls on the Friday after the fourth Thursday of November. For a visitor, the useful part is the Sunday: shops in Barcelona usually close on Sundays outside the summer season, but 29 November is one of the exceptions, and from then until Christmas every Sunday is a shopping Sunday.
Each shop still chooses whether to open on those Sundays, so check the hours before crossing town. The rules for the rest of the year are in the guide to Sunday shopping in Barcelona. On the public holidays of 8, 25 and 26 December, shops close.

Passeig de Gràcia, Plaça de Catalunya and Portal de l’Àngel are a short walk from one another. If you are hopping to a mall too, a T-casual card, 10 rides for €13, beats single tickets; the metro ticket guide explains the options. Busy shopping streets attract pickpockets, so keep your phone and wallet zipped; the Barcelona safety guide has the rest.
Getting the sales tax back
If you live outside the European Union, you can reclaim the sales tax on what you buy, on top of the Black Friday price. Ask for the tax-free form when you pay, at La Roca Village, Viladecans and many shops in the centre, and have it validated at the airport before you check in your luggage.
Keep the receipts and the forms together, and leave time at the airport, because the validation has to be done before you check in your bag.
Is La Roca Village worth half a day?
La Roca Village is the designer outlet: prices are below full retail all year, and it runs its own Black Friday offers. It is open every day from 10 am to 9 pm, including the Saturday and Sunday of Black Friday weekend.
The shuttle bus leaves from Estació del Nord, takes about 40 minutes and costs €25 return booked online or €27 on board; children aged 3 to 12 pay €14. It pays off if you are buying several items or one expensive piece. For trainers and casual wear, Viladecans The Style Outlets is less than 100 m from its local train station. The comparison of the two is in the guide to outlet shopping near Barcelona.
How to spot a fake discount
The crossed-out price is not just any number: it has to be the lowest price the item sold for in the 30 days before the discount. If a shop raised a price in early November to “cut” it on the 27th, the real discount counts from the lower price.
- Photograph the price tag of anything you want a week or two before.
- Check the shop’s own website on the day: sometimes the offer is only online or only in store.
- Ignore countdown timers: many offers carry on through the weekend.
Online orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery with no reason needed; in a physical shop, returns depend on each store’s policy unless the item is faulty.
What you might not like
- Not every shop opens on Sunday 29: it is allowed, not compulsory.
- The outlet costs €25 to reach, which matters on a small purchase.
- The big clothes sales come later: the real markdowns start after Three Kings, covered in the January sales.
Staying into December? See Barcelona in December, and if you shop after dark, the Christmas lights come on over the same streets every evening. Restaurant deals are a separate campaign earlier in the month, the Foodie Black Week.
Black Friday weekend checklist for visitors
- Book the La Roca shuttle online: €25 instead of €27 on board.
- Carry your passport if you plan to ask for the tax-free form.
- Check whether your mall opens on Sunday 29 before travelling across town.
- Keep receipts and tax-free forms in one envelope for the airport.
